UCLA Law Human Rights Litigation Clinic - LAFLA: discarding property at homeless encampements
Friday, April 15 2022
The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Human Rights Litigation Clinic are reviewing city documentation of discarding property. When the city conducts a cleanup around a homeless encampment and throws away homeless people’s property, they are supposed to fill out a form explaining why they threw away the property. We are looking for law students to help us code the reasons they listed on the documentation so we can get an overall sense of what the City considers adequate reasons, and how they completed this documentation.
We estimate that we could use 3-4 students working 10-15 hours each, to be completed by April 14 if possible.
