Contact Information: Marena (Mother) number is: (585) 410-7823 or 585 371-1441, Eric Lintala (Volunteer Coordinator): (585) 622-4546
Apartment Information: The Ahmadi family lives in the upper apartment. When you arrive, call the mother Marena. She does not speak English, but she will know the call means you have arrived. If she does not answer her phone, park outside the apartment and walk into the front door of their apartment and up all of the stairs. Knock on the top floor door.
When you arrive at RCSD: No one (even caseworkers) are allowed inside the building, so when you pull up, call (585) 262-8284 or (585) 262-8225 to let the people inside know that you have arrived with the family. They should let you know when you can send them in. Ask them to call you back when the family’s appointment is over. Additionally, I recommend handing Marena a slip of paper with your name, phone number, and the words “call this number when their appointment is over” on it for her to hand to someone inside. An interpreter will be provided for the family by the RCSD when the family is inside. The appointment itself should take a couple of hours. During the appointment, feel free to drive somewhere else or bring something to occupy you as you wait in your car.
Extra Details: If you have a World Relief Volunteer Lanyard, please wear it.
No one in the Ahmadi family speaks English. If you need to communicate, use Google Translate, English-Persian. Marena speaks Dari, but it overlaps somewhat well with Persian.
The Ahmadi family will have a car seat for their youngest daughter and will know how to use it.
