Intercultural Development Research Association: Due Process in Education Research Project
Project Description:
The Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA) is seeking a couple law students who are interested in assisting with a 50-state survey of students' due process rights in education. IDRA is compiling information about how states define certain discipline consequences, the hearing and appeal processes like timing and notice, and some evidentiary issues. This information may live in various state statutes or codes, or in some instances, decided on a district-by-district basis.
This is a flexible project that can be completed on students' own time. Each state could take somewhere between 2-3 hours to research, so state assignments can be given based on students' capacity. Student volunteers should have enough capacity to take on at least 3 states. The final due date for this research is March 28th, but IDRA would love to have it finished in advance of that date, if possible. Students with significant contribution will be credited.
