9AM Sea Turtles - N.E.S.T. Nesting Response 101 (NAGS HEAD)

Saturday, April 20 2024

2 hours
---------------------------
This class will introduce how to identify nesting crawls by species, how to locate eggs, and how to complete a nesting response report. We will begin with an hour in the classroom followed by an hour on the beach.

This class is for NEW N.E.S.T. volunteers who have never done Nesting Response before. Returning volunteers are welcome to attend the classroom portion of 101 if they are interested in a full review (or for a summary review, they may attend 201) but the beach simulation portion will be reserved for new volunteers only.

Note: This class is intended for volunteers with the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles (VA/NC border south to Nags Head). Volunteers should complete a N.E.S.T. volunteer application if they have not already. After attending training, volunteers will also need to complete a NC Wildlife Volunteer Application in order to log volunteer hours.
