Night at the Museum

Volunteers will interact with visitors and assist with craft activities at the Night at the Museum Event. Volunteers will show or demonstrate a craft or activity and will also help to draw the visitors into the activity.
Responsibilities:
The activities include hands-on assistants, popcorn helpers, general event assistance, admissions help and handing out the Autograph books.
Skills Required:
Be able to explain simple craft instruction. Capable of interacting with a museum audience is necessary. Be able to learn the operation of the popcorn machine.
Time Commitment:
Saturday shift 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Assist with activity set up and clean-up.
Work Environment:
Program attendance could be around 800 visitors.
For craft activities – working on the museum floor at an activity table. For popcorn activity – working on Plaza level making and distributing popcorn.
Physical Demands:
Sitting or standing during the event. If volunteering for Pump Drill activity must be able to demonstrate how the apparatus works. No heavy lifting required.
Training:
All interested persons are required to attend one training before volunteering.

Age requirement:
14-17 parent or guardian consent
