Volunteers Needed for the Hudson West Festival
Sept. 28, 2024, in downtown Jersey City.

We need a few volunteers from Welcome Home to staff the cash register and to help serve food cooked by Welcome Home friends at the Hudson West Festival in at Nimbus Dance in Jersey City between Noon and 8:00 PM on Saturday Sept. 28.

This is the fourth year that refugee chefs are providing the food served at the festival. This year we will have a mixture of Nigerian food cooked by Veronica O. and Afghan food cooked by Mitra A.

If you can give us an hour or two you will have free access to the all-day festival: music and workshops. It’s a fun way to meet people and help a couple of our friends. At previous festivals our chefs have earned between $500 and $600 each for their efforts.

Fred Miller and Bess Morrison will be spearheading this effort. We would love to see you there.
