Black Mustard Abatement at Brea Dam Park

Saturday, March 20 2021

Fullerton SLOBs is partnering with OC United and the City of Fullerton to help fight the invasion of the Black Mustard weed in our local fields and parks. Starting at the top of the hill at Brea Dam Park, members will be working with a local naturalist to remove seedlings and dormant plants in 6'x6' sections. For safe social distancing, members can work their own 6'x6' area, or join with siblings or a parent to work in their square. Our team leader, Corey Wylde, will vary the activities so that you are not spending the entire 2-hours on your hands and knees.

Mr. Wylde will be providing all of the tools required, but each member should bring the following:
- Gardening gloves
- Sunscreen
- Water
- Mask
Recommended: Knee pads or garden kneeling mat

Dress Code: White SLOBs t-shirt, comfortable shorts or pants that are OK to get dirty, closed-toed shoes that are suitable for hiking

On-site/Philanthropy Contact: Corey Wylde
SLOBs VC: Kalana Ricklef, kricklef@gmail.com, 714-476-6353

Location:
We will meet at the Brea Dam parking lot on North Harbor Blvd - just north of the Brea Blvd. intersection before the hill
