The Rich Center for Autism

On September 29th we will be taking a field trip for parents to ISLE’s Farmer Casey’s Ranch in Coitsville, Ohio. We will carpool and caravan from The Rich Center at 9am on Thursday the 29th.

The Purple Cat is a creative day program for adults with disabilities. Its primary focus is on teaching daily-living skills, fostering independence and providing a creative environment for our individuals to reach their personal goals. The Ranch, which is at 4738 McCartney Rd., is a 52-acre property with a raised-bed vegetable garden, fruit trees, a chicken coop, animal programs, a butterfly garden, a pumpkin patch, and an orchard. The space offers a healthy share of fresh air and sunshine while individuals complete vocational tasks. When not busy working, individuals use the grounds for relaxation and friendly competition. The site is perfect for kickball matches, hayrides, nature walks, basketball, and outdoor dining. Individuals and staff enjoy boating and fishing on the seven-acre lake that features a wheelchair-accessible deck.
