Thanksgiving is a popular day to volunteer to serve and build community with others. Here is a message from Glide regarding Thanksgiving and holiday-related volunteer opportunities. Consider working with your family to create a new tradition!

LOOKING AT NOVEMBER and BEYOND
Did you know that volunteering has health benefits? Studies show that volunteering reduces loneliness, provides social support and brings positive emotions.

So, why not bring a friend or five, make it a family event, or even organize a “volunteer date” for your friend(s) and spread some good emotions this holiday season and beyond. Why not share some fun and good vibes?

We’re kicking off our holiday season with Holiday Jam!!!! a lively event filled with music, love and celebration. We will be jamming to the sounds of The Philharmonik, Lenny Williams, Vernon Bush, Michael Marshall, and the GLIDE Ensemble.

You can be a part of the Holiday Jam celebration by helping us prepare for the event. We are looking for volunteers to help with set up on Nov 12th. As a thank you, volunteers will get a ticket to enjoy the show on Nov 13th!

Can’t join us for Thanksgiving Day? No worries! We have other shifts related to Thanksgiving that you can volunteer for.

Turkey Drive – this fun opportunity would be great for the little one! Don on a turkey suit and receive turkeys donated by well-wishers.

Thanksgiving Prep shifts – you help prep all the delicious fixings that will go with the Thanksgiving meal.

Hot Cider Server – share the warmth by serving hot cider on Thanksgiving Day to our community as they await to eat breakfast.
