Tree Pruning and instruction at Broad Rock Library Branch with JRA maintenance crew and volunteers
Friday, September 27 2024
The James River Association will be doing tree maintenance at Broad Rock Library with their Green Infrastructure Stewardship volunteers and the Soar365 ground maintenance team for the Greening Richmond Libraries projects. These folks will be regularly working with trees at the various library branches. JRA has asked Tree Stewards to lead a brief training session (9:30-10:00), then guide the volunteers and crew in pruning young trees in the rain gardens and around the library property. Tree Stewards will likely do most of the pruning, volunteers and crew will shadow and learn with supervised hands-on pruning support.
Please wear your vests and nametags, bring a water bottle and tools: hand pruners, loppers, stick pruners and saws. Since this is an instructional event, we are asking experienced pruners to help with this. This is a great opportunity to help ensure the trees at the libraries across town receive ongoing proper care.
Broad Rock Library Branch is located at 4820 Old Warwick Rd., Richmond 23224
