Race for Education
Wednesday, April 30 2025
On Wednesday, April 30th, all students will run in the Race for Education, an annual All Saints tradition. K-8th students will compete for most laps completed on a quarter mile race course on school grounds. Pre-K students will join in the fun, too, on a smaller course.
Many volunteer opportunities are available, most of which can be done while cheering on your child. See race times and role descriptions below.
VIRTUS certification is required for ALL volunteer roles at the Race for Education.
Race Times
Grades Pre-K-2
8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
Grades 3-5
10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Grades 6-8
1:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.
7:30am - 9:00am
Race Set-up (3 points) - VIRTUS Compliance Required
Help set up race course markers, tables, etc., prior to race.
8:15am - 9:45am
Scanner (3 points) - VIRTUS Compliance Required
Volunteers will use iPads to scan runners' wristbands as they pass, recording the number of laps completed. This is a really fun but FAST-PACED assignment, and as such, does not afford an opportunity to casually watch the race. Volunteers must be able to operate an iPad and use the scanning app. Training provided. Please note that the Pre-K students run on their own, smaller course and have their own scanners

Volunteers will use iPads to scan runners' wristbands as they pass, recording the number of laps completed. Course Monitor (3 points) - VIRTUS Compliance Required
Stand along the race course monitoring and cheering on the students while they run. Refer to race times if you want to sign up for a time slot when your child's grade will be running. This is a great role for parents bringing infants or toddlers along - you will have an excellent view of the race and earn volunteer points at the same time!

Water Station Attendant (3 points) - VIRTUS Compliance Required
Staff water stations, filling and handing out water cups to runners and transporting large water coolers back and forth to cafeteria for refilling. Refer to race times if you want to sign up for a time slot when your child will be running.

Prep and distribute popsicles to runners after each race. Refer to race times if you want to sign up for a time slot when your child will be running. VIRTUS required.
