2025 Walk for Autism

PLEASE NOTE: WHEN SIGNING UP, ENTER YOUR T-SHIRT IN THE "MESSAGE TO ORGANIZER" SO WE CAN ENSURE THE APPROPRIATE SIZES ARE ORDERED.
A two-mile walk is held to increase awareness of Autism and fund programming, education, and activities for individuals with Autism in our community. 100% of the proceeds stay in our local area. Why is it important to participate? Our Annual Walk for Autism is our largest event of the year. The Walk allows us to provide essential life and job skills across the lifespan.
DEADLINE FOR VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION: APRIL 1, 2025! OR WHEN ALL POSITIONS ARE FULL.
A confirmation email for your Walk Volunteer position will be sent with instructions by Wednesday, April 16, 2025. We would greatly appreciate your response as every position is vital to the event's success.
7:00am - 9:30am
[GS] Grounds Set-Up
You are the first volunteers of the day! We need help getting everything unloaded from the Uhaul truck and to the correct tent! Our day will not be successful without our vital set up crew.
7:00am - 11:00am
[PA] Parking Adult
Be our Parking Director’s assistant for the day! Join us to organize our early arrivals (vendors and volunteers) before our Walkers join us!

[WRB] Banners Volunteer
Help our attendees navigate the venue! This team will be hanging the banner teams and Walk signage which needs done before everyone arrives. Detailed instructions are provided with necessary tools for the job.

[WRBB] Beach Ball Volunteer
The kiddos love the beach balls but they need inflated! You are the team – you will be provided with all the supplies to inflate the beach balls and storage bags for tossing at the end of the Walk!

4/25/25 FRIDAY) This is a big event, and it takes set up time! Will you join our small Friday crew to move picnic tables and oversee the tent set up. Directors are present to provide instructions

This is an important job! Our Walk cannot start without our Walkers! Help our participants navigate the venue parking quickly.

[BT] Themed Basket Ticket Sales
Sell! Sell! Sell! The basket raffle is one of our biggest fundraising components at the Walk. Encourage all to take a chance to win either the Deluxe auction or regular or BOTH! We offer tickets purchased with cash, check or credit card! Deluxe basket tickets must be logged!

[B] Themed Basket Tent
Welcome our guests and assist with trying their luck for one of our Deluxe baskets and/or regular baskets (color of the tickets matter!) Once sales close, be a part of pulling the winning tickets, logging, and ensuring the correct winner received their lucky basket(s).

[BH] Bounce House
Safety first! Our bounce houses should never be left unattended – your job is important! Help our kiddos enter and exit the bounce house; ensure there are no shoes inside and no extreme rough play. We want all our participants to feel welcome to join!

Capture the memories for us! Join us to take photos throughout the day which will be used in future marketing campaigns. As well as shared on social media for our families to enjoy.

Our teams are important! Help us capture their photos during the event. We have a designated team photo backdrop for all to use – no matter the size of their team.

Safety First! Help our walkers follow the walk route and be safe! You will monitor to ensure walkers stay in the correct lane walking. Walkie talkies are provided to the team for emergency situations. Help us keep our walkers safe while enjoying the day!

This job is just as important as the rest! The day would not be a success without our clean-up crew! Join us at Lake Erie Speedway to pack up after the day’s event. We will be loading the Uhaul Truck for transport back to the Autism Society office and unloading.

[FLT] Friday Load Truck
4/25/25 (FRIDAY) All the Walk supplies need loaded in a UHAUL truck for transport to the venue on Saturday. We provide the truck – will you provide the muscles?? Many hands make light work!
