Bird Walk at Bluebonnet
Saturday, November 05 2022
Baton Rouge Audubon will hold its monthly bird walk at Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center on Saturday, November 5th. We will meet in the parking lot at 7:00am.
The weather folks are predicting a strange weather phenomenon for Saturday. They call it rain. I will believe it when I see it.
Please be prepared for cool wet weather. Since it is south Louisiana you should also prepare for biting insects!
We can expect to see some winter resident birds that have recently arrived. As of last report only one western hummer has been seen there this fall and it has not been seen in over a week. Kinglets, Orange-crowned and Yellow-rumped Warblers, Winter Wrens and Blue-headed Vireos have been reported. We can hope for a lingering pass through migrant or two.
There is a fee for entering the BREC park but no fee to participate in the walk. Everyone is welcome!
Hope to see you there!
