Paws Between Homes Material Drafting Project
Thursday, June 02 2022
Paws Between Homes (PBH) is a licensed Georgia animal rescue that provides temporary foster homes to the pets of people who are facing eviction or other housing loss. When PBH receives a request for help, volunteers conduct an intake interview with the pet owner, and we begin the search for a foster home that will be the right fit for that pet. After a maximum of 90 days of fostering, the pet is reunited with its owner.
Student volunteers will draft informational materials on tenants' rights to reasonable accommodation to have emotional support animals and how to establish the need for reasonable accommodation for Paws Between Homes clients. To this end, students will develop materials that may be used in intakes and follow-ups with PBH clients. This project is a great way for students to get practice honing legal research, legal writing, transactional drafting, community education, and outreach skills.
This is a long-term project that will extend until May 15th. Project work will be done virtually.
